Two-Start Pitchers (4/29 - 5/5)

Heading into Week 5 of this young fantasy season I thought it would be useful to touch on some two-start pitchers.

At the top we have Justin Verlander, Trevor Bauer, Blake Snell, Patrick Corbin and Luis Castillo. All of these guys are must starts in any league type and for that reason aren’t really worth discussing. Instead I would like to write about some pitchers who are a little less owned, but are worth using this week.

Zack Wheeler (CIN, @MIL):

Wheeler was electric in his last outing, striking out 11 Phillie batters over seven shutout innings. Both the Reds and Brewers can be tough on opposing pitchers, but after three quality starts in a row I am confident in locking Wheeler into my lineups this week.

Eduardo Rodriguez (OAK, @CHW):

After a slow start Eduardo Rodriguez has seemed to turn things around.  Over his last 18 innings pitched Rodriguez has 21 strikeouts to go along with only 4 walks.  Stringing together three strong starts, he comes into this week on a nice little roll.  If he can continue to avoid the free passes E-Rod will be a good two start streaming option.

Kenta Maeda (@SFG, @SDP):

It’s been a bit of roller coaster ride for Maeda thus far.  In his last outing the right hander was roughed up allowing six earned runs over only four innings of work.  After taking a look at his matchups though, you can see why he is on this list.  The Giants offense has been pitiful this year and both them and the Padres are in the bottom five of runs scored.

Mike Soroka (SDP, @MIA):

After starting the season hurt, Mike Soroka has looked good through his first two starts.  Limiting each of his first two opponents to only a run each.  The Braves starter has also shown some swing and miss stuff racking up 13 k’s in 10.2 innings pitched.  Like Maeda, Soroka has two great matchups this week as well.

To finish I figured I would leave you with my one two-start pitcher fade.  Sit Chris Paddack this week.  He has looked very impressive so far, but his two matchups (@ATL, LAD) are really tough.  There is a dud coming, and I can definitely see it happening this week.
