Two Start Pitchers: 5/20-5/26

This weeks two start pitchers are highlighted by a couple of head honchos that are clearly must starts, with the likes of Justin Verlander, Patrick Corbin, Chris Paddack and Trevor Bauer.  After them there is quite the list this week of quality two start pitchers that you can feel confident in rolling into your lineups this week.

Mike Soroka @SF, @STL

Mike Soroka has been nothing short of phenomenal this season.  He currently owns a crisp 0.98ERA and has yet to give up more than two runs in a game.  The Giants matchup is obviously the most tantalizing one of the two as San Francisco has the 26th ranked offense in the major leagues.  The Cardinals themselves have been in a slide of late also.  Only thing that could have made Soroka a better matchup this week would have been home starts, but fear not as Soroka has only yielded two earned runs on the road all season.

JA Happ: @BAL, @KC

I have grown quite frustrated this year with JA Happ, as he has had an ongoing issue with giving up the long ball.  Happ has already given up 11 homeruns this season, and while Baltimore is a launching pad of a ballpark, their lineup is not.  Baltimore remains in the bottom third of the league when it comes to offense.  Couple that with the anemic Kansas City Royals and Happ has a recipe for having his most productive week of the season to date.

Jake Odorizzi: @LAA, vsCWS

If you haven't noticed, Jake Odorizzi is having a phenomenal season.  Odorizzi boasts a 2.62 ERA and has racked up six wins already on in the early going.  If there is one thing that may hurt Odorizzi this week is the surprisingly strong White Sox offense, and his second match up against the Angels in as many turns in the rotation.  Familiarity could benefit either side though.  Regardless of who or where, Odorizzi has been too good this season to shy away from.

Mike Minor: vSEA, @LAA

Mike Minor has defaulted himself to staff ace down in Texas.  Minor has worked himself to a 2.62 ERA, just like our starter above, but is striking out more batters.  Minor gets two average opponents this week, so don't expect anything spectacular, but don't expect him to get walloped either.  Earlier in the year it was the Angels that found themselves on the wrong end of a complete game shutout fired by Minor, and in his start versus Seattle in April, he went a strong seven giving up only one.

Spencer Turnbull: vMIA, @NYM

This is my least confident two start option this week, but his opponents make him a definite streaming option.  Miami is absolutely putrid, and the Mets are not that intimidating themselves.  One thing Turnbull has shown the ability to do is miss bats.  Even in his last start, where he took the loss and only lasted four innings, he managed 13 swing and misses.  His biggest downfall is the team that plays defense behind him and supports him at the dish.  The Tigers made it clear during his last start how subpar they can be, as out of the six runs Turnbull gave up, only one was earned.
