Week 13: Get 'Em In, Get 'Em Out

SHARE:

And just like that, we are at the final regular season fantasy week.  And Thanksgiving!  So let's get to some football, some food, family, and a playoff berth.  Week 13, let's roll!

Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions

  • Get 'Em In
    • David Montgomery - There is honestly just zero reason whatsoever for Montgomery not to have a good game.  We all know of Trubisky's struggles, and he is down a wideout as Taylor Gabriel suffered another concussion Sunday.  On the other side of the ball, Matt Stafford is still not ready to return to action, and Jeff Driskel is in line to miss the game also.  That leaves something that goes by the name of David Blough as the Lions quarterback.  What I am getting at is the Lions against this Bears defense should pose no threat at all to the Bears, and they should have no issue winning this game by doing anything besides handing the ball to Montgomery.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Kenny Golladay - The loss of Stafford continues to destroy Kenny Golladay's season, and now it is just going to get even worse.  With a top Bears D that kept Golladay in check a few weeks ago besides basically a Hail Mary throw Golladay came down with in the endzone, and the potential of David Blough having to play quarterback for the Lions, there is little to no hope for Golladay.  The turkey is cooked in Detroit.

Buffalo Bills @ Dallas Cowboys

  • Get 'Em In
    • Ezekiel Elliot - If the Cowboys want any chance to get back in the win the column, the Ezekiel Elliot of old has to show up against a Bills defense that's only true flaw is its run defense.  A mere four days after facing the top Patriots defense that shut down their air attack, it does not exactly get easier with the Bills coming to town.  Dallas has not beat a team with a winning record all year, and the only way they can is to ride Zeke on Thanksgiving.  The Bills rushing defense is 17th in the league and Dallas NEEDS to take advantage of that all afternoon long.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Dak Prescott - The Cowboys are in the midst of what has become a yearly tradition of three games in 12 days.  Those three games are against the Patriots (last Sunday), the Bills (Thanksgiving), and the Bears (next Thursday).  These are all top defenses in the league.  As hot as Dak has been this year, this is not the time to depend on him to get you to fantasy supremacy.  If you do, you will be on the outside looking in.

New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons

  •  Get 'Em In
    • Calvin Ridley - At this moment in time, Julio Jones is looking VERY questionable to play Thanksgiving night.  Julio is nursing a shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined the last two practices, so even if he does play, it appears he will not be 100 percent.  In a game that should have the Falcons chasing points and taking to the air often, it puts Ridley in a very good spot.  Ridley has the chance to spin out WR1 numbers to cap off the Thanksgiving slate of games.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Josh Hill - Jared Cook has finally made his presence known down in the Big Easy the last three weeks.  Cook has totaled 20 catches for 206 yards and two touchdowns during that span.  Hill during those three weeks? Three catches for 20 yards.  Hill has lost his role in the Saints offense, as little as it was to begin with anyway.

Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts

  • Get 'Em In
    • Derrick Henry - I have a confession to make.  I hope you are sitting down because its bad.  Ready?  Before the season started I traded Derrick Henry for Mike Williams.  I am embarrassed for the mistake I have made.  Please forgive me.  The Titans have made it clear this offense runs through Derrick Henry, and Derrick Henry runs through everybody.  The party should roll on in an AFC South showdown Sunday against the Colts, a team that Henry posted 17 fantasy points against back in Week 2.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Jacoby Brissett - Either Brissett's performance earlier in the year was a flash in the pan, or Brissett's knee is simply not 100 percent.  Taking out the Week 9 game against the Steelers where Brissett got hurt, his last three fantasy outputs are 10, 17, and 13.  The last coming against a putrid Texans defense.  Don't drop Brissett though as he gets Tampa next weekend.

New York Jets @ Cincinnati Bengals

  • Get 'Em In
    • Sam Darnold - Darnold's last three games in order - 23 fantasy points, 34 fantasy points, and 31 fantasy points.  Now he gets the Bengals.  25 points is his floor this week.  Continue to ride Darnold at the expense of you contracting Mono for the holidays.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Joe Mixon - I broke it down for you last week how surprisingly good the Jets run defense has been this season.  They have now gone four straight weeks without allowing a running attack to top 70 yards on the ground.  Mixon has finally started piling up the yards the last month, but he is still only averaging just over 80 yards a game during that span.  That average should drop even further against this quietly good Jets rushing defense.

Washington Redskins @ Carolina Panthers

  • Get 'Em In
    • Kyle Allen - Allen had been quiet in recent weeks, but balled out last game down in the Superdome.  Allen is coming off a 256 yard and three touchdown performance against New Orleans.  This week he has a good shot to stay hot against a two win Redskins team who have what appears to be a checked out Josh Norman on defense.  This is about as appetizing as it gets for dump-offs to McCaffrey to see him take them the distance.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Terry McLaurin - This is one of my patented, you're probably not benching him but tempter expectations plays here.  The numbers are just not there for McLaurin with Haskins as his quarterback.  However, moving forward you can just assume him to be a WR3/Flex style play.

San Francisco 49ers @ Baltimore Ravens

  • Get 'Em In
    • George Kittle - Kittle showed no ill effects on Sunday night playing hurt as he caught all six of his targets for over 120 yards and a trip into the endzone.  This week in a heavyweight showdown against the Baltimore Ravens, I think Kittle can post a decent line even with Baltimore being a top 5 unit against the position.  The Ravens strength is their corners, so Jimmy G could look Kittle's way early and often.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Marquise Brown - It can be oh so hard to bench a guy coming off a two touchdown performance as Brown is, but we have seen a big enough sample size; The Niners are for real.  San Fran has been a powerhouse in every phase of the game, and on defense they have stymied wide receivers allowing under 11 catches per game to the position.  Brown, who has been somewhat boom or bust, this week has the scales tipping towards bust for Week 13.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Get 'Em In
    • Ronald Jones - The Jaguars have suddenly been gashed on the ground in the last month, allowing 699 rushing yards through the last three games.  On the other side, Ronald Jones has made himself quite comfortable around the 15 fantasy point area.  I like that to be his floor this weekend.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Jameis Winston - Happy Thanksgiving folks.  No one highlights the giving portion of that than Jamesis Winson and his league leading TWENTY INTERCEPTIONS!

Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Get 'Em In
    • Cleveland Browns Defense -  The Browns are coming off back-to-back strong showings.  I mentioned a few weeks ago about the inferior level of opponents the Browns had coming up on their schedule and they are taking advantage of it as predicted.  They trounced the Steelers two weeks ago and put up a strong showing last weekend against Miami.  Now they get the Steelers again, who will have Devlin Hodges leading the team.  Then next week they get Cincinnati.  Keep the Browns defense in your lineups.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Jarvis Landry - I was in love with Landry last week in a revenge game against Miami, and he did not disappoint.  This week, not so much.  I feel like a broken record, but this Steelers secondary has been on a whole other level with Minkah Fitzpatrick, and it seems he gets at least one turnover a game.  The Browns offense should run through Nick Chubb as they should aim to avoid the Steelers new found ballhawk.

Green Bay Packers @ New York Giants

  • Get 'Em In
    • Aaron Rodgers/Davante Adams/Aaron Jones - One would be inclined to call this a "Get Right Game."  A week after being slaughtered in the primetime hour, the Giants will be the Packers' whipping boy.  Expect all the Packers skill players to have themselves a day against the lowly Giants.
    • Darius Slayton - It's just hard to trust Slayton with both Golden Tate and Sterling Shepard in the picture.  I would shy away as long as those other two remain healthy.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Miami Dolphins

  • Get 'Em In
    • Carson Wentz - Wentz played about as bad as a quarterback can play last week in a home loss to Seattle.  He made poor choices and missed easy throws all day long.  This week he gets a defense that has made Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield look like Joe Montana and Dan Marino, respectively.  If Wentz can't get the wheels back on the Wentz Wagon this week, that when can he?  Give him one more shot if you're desperate at the quarterback position.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Dallas Goedert - The matchup itself is clearly great on paper. However, recent weeks have shown that Wentz is most comfortable throwing to Ertz, as while Wentz has been borderline terrible, the one guy in Philadelphia posting solid numbers is Ertz.  Alshon Jeffery should also be back this week, giving Wentz one more mouth to feed.  Goedert is back to second fiddle in the tight end pecking order and even lower among pass catchers.

Los Angeles Rams @ Arizona Cardinals

  • Get 'Em In
    • Robert Woods - Woods had a random week off back in Week 11, but sandwiched around that week was two strong performances.  In total those outings produced 20 catches for 197 yards.  With a bottom 10 pass defense in Arizona, Woods has a great shot to keep the good times rolling, and hopefully he can hit pay dirt for the first time since Week 6, which actually came on the ground rushing.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Los Angeles Rams Defense - For a unit filled with names, the Rams defense sure looks atrocious.  Yes I know it's clear the Ravens offense is another beast, but this goes far beyond the Baltimore game.  This is a defense giving up over 22 points a game this season.  And yes, Kyler Murray is no Lamar Jackson, but you know the similarities are there and I think Kyler will find a way to avoid sacks and put up points.

Los Angleles Chargers @ Denver Broncos

  •  Get 'Em In
    • Courtland Sutton - Before last week up at Buffalo, Sutton had posted double digit fantasy points every single week besides Week 2.  Last week was kind of predictable given the matchup.  I like Sutton to get back to his double digit ways this week, however.  The Chargers defense has been susceptible at times to big plays, which is Sutton's forte.  He should be good as a flex play once again.  If only he could get a competent quarterback...

    • Philip Rivers - Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.  I will not risk being fooled a third time.  On the road, at Denver, somewhere Rivers has historically struggled, there is just no reason to think Rivers will turn around his recent struggles this week.

Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs

  • Get 'Em In
    • Darren Waller - Waller has been eerily quiet since Week 7, with his highest point total since then only being 12 points.  If the Raiders want any chance at all to keep pace with the Chiefs, Waller needs to become a focal point of this passing attack once again.  It's no secret how awful against the pass the Chiefs have been, and that goes for the tight end position too as they are bottom 5 at defending the position.  Waller seems primed to break back onto the scene this weekend.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Tyrell Williams - In the last month Williams has faced the likes of the Lions, the Bengals and the Jets.  In those games he has produced fantasy outputs of 5, 12, and 3 points.  He just has been incapable of taking advantage of poor matchups, so I don't see any reason as to why he should this week.  MAYBE, and that's a big maybe, but MAYBE he warrants a flex with Hunter Renfrow hurt.

New England Patriots @ Houston Texans

  • Get 'Em In
    • Julian Edelman - Edelman just went for eight catches and 93 yards against a pretty good Cowboys defense.  The Houston Texans defense?  Not as good as Dallas.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Carlos Hyde - If the Texans want to pull off the upset against the one loss Patriots, it won't come on the legs of Carlos Hyde.  It is going to have to come on the strengths of Deshaun Watson.  Hyde's highest fantasy output all year has only been 18 points, and that was way back in Week 6.  Don't see how he comes anywhere close to that against the top ranked Patriots defense.

Minnesota Vikings @ Seattle Seahawks

  • Get 'Em In
    • Jacob Hollister - If it wasn't for an uncharacteristic overthrow by Russell Wilson, Hollister would have scored a touchdown for the third straight game.  It's clear he is one of Wilson's favorite targets once the Seahawks hit the red zone, and the Vikings are pretty mediocre at defending tight ends on the year.  With the potential for a touchdown always on the table, Hollister remains a solid tight end play.
  • Get 'Em Out
    • Kirk Cousins - This is just gut, and my gut tells me not to trust Kirk Cousins, on the road, in Seattle, and in Primetime.  It just smells like one of those games where Washington Kirk Cousins shows up and that's not a good thing.

Happy Thanksgiving!
