WEEK 5 PREVIEW

(1-3) SEATTLE DRAGONS VS HOUSTON ROUGHNECKS (4-0)
TDECU STADIUM
HOUSTON, TX
03/07/2020 2:00 PM

M.V.P.J. Show: The Dragons are trying to snap a three game losing streak but will have a tough matchup against P.J. Walker and the Roughnecks.  The Dragons have been experimenting with quarterbacks this season between Brandon Silvers and now B.J. Daniels.  Daniels had one touchdown and a interception in last week's game.  The Roughnecks should get the victory if they're able to continue the Seattle wide receivers.  Based off the quarterback play by Jim Zorn’s squad that shouldn’t be a tough task.  But the Daniels led offseason was able to get separation in the loss.  I expect the Roughnecks to win in front of their home crowd this week improving to 5-0. - Chris

35-0 HOUSTON ROUGHNECKS          HOUSTON ROUGHNECKS 35-0

(2-2) NEW YORK GUARDIAN VS DALLAS RENEGADES (2-2)
GLOBE LIFE PARK IN ARLINGTON
ARLINGTON, TX
03/07/2020 5:00 PM

Gotham's New Dark Knight: The New York Guardians and the Dallas Renegades are both 2-2 in this pivotal week five match up.  The question for the Guardians is who will start at quarterback?  Matt McGloin was back practicing this week after missing last week with a chest injury.  But will Luis Perez get another shot for Kevin Gilbride’s offense?  With Landry Jones missing more time, the Renegades will turn to Philip Nelson again this week.  He completed 34-of-45 pass attempts this year for 229 yards and an interception against the Roughnecks last week.  The Renegades should get the win over the Guardians this week.  Nelson will continue to lead the offense and bring the Guardians to 2-3. - Chris

PREDICTIONS:

25-19 DALLAS RENEGADES         NEW YORK GUARDIANS 29-25

(3-1) ST. LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS VS DC DEFENDERS (2-2)
AUDI FIELD
WASHINGTON DC
03/08/2020 3:00 PM

BSS GAME OF THE WEEK: Jordan Ta’amu is the key to the Battlehawks offense and is one of the reasons why they’ll be in contention all season long.  The Battlehawks will face the D.C. Defenders who are in need to a win this week.  Cardale Jones will be up against the XFL's No. 2 pass defense and Jordan Ta'amu.  While D.C. might be home, Ta’amu and his stable of running backs will be too much this week.  The Battlehawks look primed to be a tough playoff team as the season progresses.  Ta’amu throws four touchdowns today in a rout of the Defenders. - Chris

PREDICTIONS:
JAMES                                      CHRIS
31-17 ST. LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS      ST. LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS 35-12

(1-3) TAMPA BAY VIPERS VS LA WILDCATS (1-3)
DIGNITY HEALTH SPORTS PARK
CARSON, CA
03/08/2020 9:00 PM

XFL Primetime Matchup: Don’t look now but the Vipers are red hot right now!  The Vipers are coming off a win over the Defenders while their opponent, the Wildcats, are looking to rebound this week.  This should be an entertaining game this week.  Wildcats quarterback Josh Johnson has played well, but not well enough for his team to be competitive this season.  The Vipers have a solid offense, while the Wildcats have a defense that works hard at the line of scrimmage.  The Vipers have enough offense to take out the Wildcats, who aren’t really that good.  Tampa wins their second straight while LA is looking towards next year. - Chris

PREDICTIONS:
JAMES                                  CHRIS
30-21 LA WILDCATS          TAMPA BAY VIPERS 31-18
