Tiger Woods is Back!

He’s back!  Tiger Woods will make his return to the PGA Tour since the start of the coronavirus pandemic next week at the Memorial Tournament.  This is what the golf world has been waiting for since it was announced the Tour would be restarting earlier this month.

Woods took to his personal Twitter to make the announcement which sent the platform a buzz.
This will be Woods first tournament since Feb. 16, when he played in the Genesis Invitational.  Woods shot a 77 and finished last amongst the golfers who made the cut.  Despite the poor play at the Genesis Invitational, it's going to be exciting seeing Woods on the links.  Woods recently played with Peyton Manning against Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson in the Match II.  Woods looked good in the Match II and the golfing world will be looking to see if he can stay healthy the remainder of this year.
Woods has won five Memorial Tournaments in his career, winning the trophy in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2009 and 2012.  He will be rejoining the Tour in the quest for his 83rd victory and break the tie with Sam Snead atop the all-time wins list.  Woods currently sits 41st in the FedExCup and 14th in the world rankings.

Woods is ready to get back on the links and dominate like we've been accustomed to seeing over the course of his storied career.  Unfortunately, spectators will not be allowed to be in attendance to see Woods due to the coronavirus pandemic. Woods will need to follow all COVID protocols to be able to play in this tournament in Ohio.  The Tour has been on the record in saying "they strongly encourage" Woods to be tested prior to the tournament.

The PGA Tour needs Woods, and they need him to be healthy for their tournaments this year.  The Ryder Cup was officially canceled for this year and will be pushed into 2021.  The fans of the golf world need a healthy Woods and the Masters to be played this year.  Woods looked like his old self during the Match II and we're ready to see him in his Victory Red on Sunday winning the Memorial Tournament for the sixth time.
