Week 6 Fantasy Football Shark Tank

After a week off, Fantasy Football Shark Tank is back!  On this episode we will hear a proposal of two veteran quarterbacks, and an alpha wide receiver with a tough matchup.  Let us get it started…

Allen Robinson Finishes as the WR 1 in Week 6

Volume, volume, volume…Allen Robinson sees massive amount of volume in the Chicago Bears passing game.  A-Rob has seen 11.4 targets a game so far this year, 16 of which came in Week 5 alone.  On top of the high target rate, he also ranks fourth in football in target share with 28.9%.  This is not a stretch here.  I mean, Robinson is projected to be a top 10 wide receiver already, but I think top 10 is too low.  I know what you are saying, the Carolina Panthers have the sixth ranked defense against the pass.  But…here is what the alpha receiver on an offense has done against them this year:

Mike Evans:                        7 recs – 104 yards -1 TD

Keenan Allen:                    13 recs – 132 yards-1TD

DeAndre Hopkins:              7 recs – 41 yards

Calvin Ridley:                     8 recs – 136 yards

As you can see this Panthers defense is beatable and Allen Robinson is going to get enough chances to make them count this Sunday.

Having looked at the Panthers’ pass defense I immediately thought about passing altogether on this proposal.  Not to mention the Panthers and the Chicago Bears are too of the slowest paced teams.  But you cannot argue what alpha receivers have done against Carolina, and A Rob is 100 percent an alpha wide receiver.  I will invest with 60% confidence.

Matt Ryan Will Have More Fantasy Points Than Aaron Rodgers in Week 6

It is never good to start a pitch with a caveat, but here we go.  This will hinge on whether Julio Jones plays, and for that matter the entire Atlanta Falcons team plays after a positive COVID test.  If those two very possible stars align than Ryan outshines Rodgers.  Now Matty Ice has been absolutely dreadful over the past three weeks, failing to reach 20 points in any of those matchups.  But if he is getting Jones back into the lineup than Ryan could produce like he did the first two weeks of the season.  This Sunday they are scheduled to take on the Minnesota Vikings on the road.  The team implied total is 25.75 pts for Atlanta with an over/under of 55 points, so you can expect these offensives to cook.  Quarterbacks have ripped apart the Vikings defense.  Their pass defense ranks 23rd in the entire league.  Only dusty old Phil Rivers and Ryan Tannehill did not shine.  Tannehill did however throw for over 320 yards, but didn’t have any touchdowns, so you can argue that he was still able to get the job done.  In a battle of underperforming teams, you can expect some offensive fireworks.  Start Matty Ice.

It is undeniable that quarterbacks have been very good against the Minnesota defense and Ryan is perennially a high end QB performer, so this could be the get right matchup.  Having Jones back in the mix will only help elevate Matt Ryan’s ceiling.  New interim head coach Raheem Morris should be an improvement to Dan Quinn because…Dan Quinn stunk.  Aaron Rodgers on the other hand has a tougher matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Five weeks in, the Bucs pass defense ranks fourth against opposing quarterbacks.  It’s completely makes sense for Rodgers to still have a good game and continue his MVP season but, not a fantasy bonanza.  I will invest with 75% confidence.

If you have Allen Robinson start him with confidence and, if you can, get Matt Ryan into your starting lineup.

That’s the latest episode of Fantasy Football Shark Tank.
