Tiger Woods Looks to Capture His Sixth Green Jacket

It's Masters Week, in November, and the defending Masters winner Tiger Woods has Georgia on his mind.  When Woods plays Augusta, he's just a different golfer and there is no better pairing than him and Augusta National.  He has thirteen top-six finishes, he's won the Green Jacket five times and he's looking for his record tying sixth jacket.

After a seven-month delay, the Masters will tee off this Thursday.  In a year where everything feels so unpredictable, we finally get to watch golf's premiere tournament. A fall Masters will be interesting.  The golfers who'll be competing haven't played this tournament in the November air.  How the course will play from a weather perspective will be something to watch.  The current weather forecast is predicting light wind and cooler temps as we get into the weekend.

The one thing we'll be missing this weekend is the sounds and roars from the crowd.  There'll be no fans at the course, the silence from the crowd will be deafening.  While there'll be no buzz at the golf course, that doesn't mean there'll be buzz off the course.

As they prepare for this unprecedented tournament, the field will be without one prominent name this week.  Sergio Garcia withdrew from the Masters after a positive COVID-19 test.  This is the one thing golfers have been trying to avoid once this tournament was moved to the fall.  Garcia, who finally captured the Green Jacket back in 2017, will watch with the rest of us at home.

As we inch closer to the first tee, there'll be some other storylines to look out for this week.  Bryson DeChambeau heads to Augusta National looking to bring some noise with his powerful drives off the tee.  The U.S. Open Champion will be looking to capture his first ever Green Jacket.  Rory McIlroy comes in trying to capture a Grand Slam once again.  If he leads going into the weekend, and he has Woods on his tail, what a story that would be.

In a weird and quirky sports year that has given us twists and turns,  Nothing would be more fitting than Woods capturing his sixth jacket.  No one prepares for the Masters better than Woods.  I want to see Woods contend, I want another inspirational Masters tournament.  Most importantly, I want to see Woods playing meaningful golf on Sunday capturing his sixth jacket.
