Week 15 Fantasy Football Shark Tank

Last week’s episode was the best yet!  Just kidding there wasn’t an episode of the Fantasy Football Shark Tank last week.   As it was coming together, one of the players mentioned had to take care of a personal matter and missed his matchup, and the other popped up mid-week on the injury report and didn’t play.  Sure, the episode could have come out anyway, but it would have just been a combination of words that provide nothing for fantasy general managers.  Onward we go.  We will be hearing proposals involving two running backs, one stud, one waiver wire pick up, and a wide receiver seemingly busting out to finish the fantasy season.

Jeff Wilson Will Finish as a Top 15 RB in Week 15

Entering Week 15, fantasy general managers were not expecting to want to roster, let alone play, Jeff Wilson.  Matter of fact, if you’re a casual player then you may not even recognize the name.  Well, let me bring you up to speed, Jeff Wilson is a running back for the San Francisco 49ers, and he is looking like he may be in line for a ton of work on Sunday.  Over the last three weeks the San Fran backfield has been predominantly a timeshare between Wilson and Raheem Mostert.  Wilson has seen ten carries per game to Mostert’s 13 carries per game.

On Monday, Mostert went to get further testing on his injured ankle, putting his status for this Sunday in doubt.  Not all of Mostert’s carries will go to Wilson, but if he gains the good side of a split then you can expect Wilson to do something with the extra work.  You may be asking why?  Here is the big why…the Niners take on the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.  Dallas is amongst the worst defenses stopping running backs; they rank 26th to be exact.  On top of the soft matchup, Wilson was already seeing the goal line work.  A recipe for production in fantasy football.  Oh!  And Wilson has gotten three receptions in the last two weeks.  Take all the components, mix them together and ouila! you have a Top 15 running back in Week 15.

Jeff Wilson does present a juicy free square running back for the weekend slate.  He was a long shot play even before the ankle injury potentially flaring up again for Mostert.  Dallas has been a door mat for running backs this season and running the ball is what the Niners do best.  The Cowboys’ offense isn’t operating the same without Dak Prescott, so I don’t see them igniting an offensive shoot out, so the running attack for San Francisco can be a constant in this matchup.  Having said all that, the Niners are also big proponents of the running back by committee, so even if Mostert is inactive he will still have Tevin Coleman and Jerrick McKinnon, so it won’t be Wilson’s backfield entirely.  The gut feeling is Mostert sits, so I will invest with 58% confidence.

TY Hilton Continues His Hot Streak

The wide receiver from the Indianapolis Colts was left for fantasy dead after starting the season so poorly.  Over the last three weeks, Hilton of old has come roaring back and has produced as a WR 1 over that span.  Culminating in WR 8 finish last week, scoring over 20 points.  A feat Hilton has accomplished for the second straight week.  Hilton has actually been the number 3 wide receiver in this three week span.  The former fantasy football standout is catching fire at the right time, and in Week 15 he gets Vernon Hargreaves and the Houston Texans.

Didn’t the Colts just face off against the Texans?  Why yes, they did, and this is how it played out.  Hilton saw 11 targets and turned those targets into eight receptions and 110 receiving yards.  Oh, and he also scored a touchdown in that game.  Vernon Hargreaves is giving up 13.3 fantasy points per matchup.  If you’re wondering where that ranks amongst his peers, it is 66th.  Mr. Hargreaves is not having a good season.  TY should eat this weekend and take full advantage of the weak adversary.

Since this resurgence has been going on for a few weeks, there is little chance that he is available in leagues, but if he is a free agent scoop him up and if you have him on your roster make sure you have a spot for TY Hilton in your starting lineup.  He will not cool down in Week 15.  Expect Hilton to have a good game and continue his current hot streak.

What a roller coaster ride TY Hilton has been on this year.  Over the last three weeks that ride is at the peak.  But will he stay high above the park or will he take a dive?  There are some factors that go against Hilton’s chances of having another baller game.  For one, the matchup is in Indy, which lends to the narrative that Houston will not threaten the Colts enough to continue passing.  So if Hilton doesn’t score early, he may not cash in on the juicy matchup.

Three more reasons why Hilton may not be the fantasy beast that he has been are named Jonathan Taylor, Hyheim Hines and Michael Pittman.  These three players have shouldered the offensive production throughout the year, and if they have big games then it will make it all the harder for Hilton to dominate.  The matchup against the Texans is very good for fantasy production.  It isn’t a question of if but a question of who will be the greatest benefactor.  It is no guarantee that TY Hilton is that guy.  That matchup is tough to ignore, so I will invest, but with the other players potentially having big games it will not be as big of an investment as if Hilton was the alpha offensive player.  Let’s invest with 49% confidence.

Derrick Henry Is a Top 3 RB This Week

King Henry leads the NFL in rushing yards with 1,532 and this week he gets the Detroit Li…

Let me go ahead and stop the proposal right there, I have heard enough.  I will invest with 93% confidence.

If you are fortunate enough to be in your league’s semifinals then you are going to want to play Wilson, Hilton, and Henry.  If you’re not still alive in your league then use the Shark’s invest strategies in your DFS lineups.  Regardless of your Week 15 situation, good luck and tune into next week’s Fantasy Football Shark Tank.
