How the Top Five NFL Picks Could Affect SimBull Market

You may have heard the news that SimBull has decided to partner with THE Boston Sports Syndicate.  SimBull is an answer idea that I think all of the syndicate supporters will enjoy.  Check out Mike Travers’ article that he posted for all the juicy details.  Link for that introductory offer is at the end of this article.

The NFL Draft begins this Thursday night.  Just the first round will play out and I am very curious to see how the Top 5 picks will factor into the movement of the SimTeams on  When you look at the charts for all the teams selecting in the Top 5 you will notice that all five have seen drastic increases to their value over the past one to three months.  This obviously makes a ton of sense, because the players in this draft, let me be more specific, the quarterbacks in this draft class can be the catalysts to quick turnarounds.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Trevor Lawrence hype train has taken their SimValue to new heights.  For good reason, we haven’t seen a QB prospect like Sunshine since possibly Andrew Luck.  I think we could still see that value increase even though the Lawrence boost has more than likely already plateaued.  The secondary boost could happen when the world witnesses the Jaguars cap placed onto that luscious head of hair, but I think that will come when they select their second pick in the first round.

New York Jets

Currently the Jets are the lowest valued SimTeam out of the Top 5 in Thursday night’s draft.  I’m not sure if it is the uncertainties around Zach Wilson or the loss of faith for the Jets’ ownership.  Either way, I think now is a good time to buy into the Jets.  Robert Salah is very well regarded in the NFL world.  A candidate to run his own ship for a couple of years, and in 2021 he will finally be the Head Honcho.  New York has two first round selections this year.  We all know they are drafting the Mormon Mahomes, but who will their second pick be?  If they land someone of note that could be a mega boost for their SimValue.

San Francisco 49ers

The Niners are the team best equipped to win in 2021 out of the Top 5 picks.  But their SimValue could see dramatic changes based on their decision at 3.  I honestly can’t guarantee what will happen.  I don’t know what will take place if they select Alabama quarterback Mac Jones.  From all the NFL buzz I’ve heard, Jones that early would be foolish.  On the other hand, if they pick Trey Lance will that boost the value?  Reports are that he is not NFL gameday ready.  We only have to wait a few more days until we find out.

Atlanta Falcons

I believe that the Atlanta Falcons are the least likely team to select a QB early in this year’s draft.  A trade bad is way more likely than the Dirty Birds taking a signal caller.  Minimal movement on their SimValue is expected.  Even if they select a stud like Kyle Pitts, I do not really see that leading to a massive bump.  And rumors are swirling that a Julio Jones trade could be on the horizon.  Trading away your super star player is not a way to gain value on the market.

Cincinnati Bengals

Okay, I lied.  The Bengals are the least likely to draft a QB in the Top 5.  But they already have their young gunslinger.  Joe Burrow has created such a positive buzz around the Cincinnati football team.  They are currently just a smidge under their 52-week high and it could jump.  The Bengals are going to decide between the best available OT or the best available WR.  I think either route will add their potential ceiling next season.  Adding protection for Joe Burrow or adding fire power to the offense?  You really can’t go wrong.

New England Patriots

Last season the Pats had the worst season I have seen in the last 20 years.  Their SimValue was at a 52-week low after they missed the playoffs.  Since then you have seen their value skyrocket.  That is due to the aggressive game plan that Bill Belichick deployed.  Landing the Top 2 TE’s in the entire free agency class.  Belichick may not be messing around.

If you believe some of the noise out there, than you are expecting the Pats to take a quarterback early this year.  New England trading up to draft a quarterback like Justin Fields would cause the hype around this team to explode.  Fields has been regarded as the second best QB in this year’s draft for the past year.  Only recently has he begun to slide in projected drafts.  Most would have never thought Fields to NE would be a realistic possibility just a few months ago.  On Thursday that could happen, and if it does…SimPatriots’ value could go to Pluto.
