Rays Randy Arozarena With a Spectacular Catch Out in Right Field Robbing Red Sox Hunter Renfroe

The Red Sox welcomed the Rays to Fenway Park on Monday night after dropping the first three games of the season to the Orioles.  Entering the game, the offense has been ice cold, with the exception of J.D. Martinez.

Some of the key hitters in the Red Sox lineup has been scuffling since coming up north from Spring Training.  Alex Verdugo 0-for-11, Bobby Dalbec 0-for-10 with five strikeouts, Rafael Devers 0-for-6, Xander Bogaerts 1-for-12, and Kiké Hernandez 1-for-10 have all been abysmal at the plate.

The defending American League champion Rays came to Fenway Park after taking two of three from the Marlins.  Boston would look to get on track by jumping on a weaker Rays rotation.

Red Sox starter Nick Pivetta was spectacular through the first four innings holding a 1-0 lead.

Boston batted in the bottom of the fourth looking to add to their lead.  The Red Sox would see the first two batters get on base.  New Red Sox outfielder Hunter Renfroe came to the plate looking to pad the slim lead.

Renfroe had to face former Red Sox reliever Chris Mazza.  The former Red Sox reliever went to the Rays in a trade this offseason along with Jeffrey Springs.  The two would help bring the Red Sox 23-year-old catcher Ronaldo Hernandez and a prospect.

With no outs in the bottom of the fourth, Mazza delivered a pitch to Renfroe who hit a ball to right field.  The ball came off that bat at 101 mph, and then Rays sensational outfielder Randy Arozarena went onto make the catch of the year.

In what looked like it would be extra bases for Renfroe and likely scoring both runners on base, Arozarena would lay out and rob the former Rays outfielder in Renfroe.

The diving leaping catch from Arozarena featured a huge stretch from the Rays outfielder.  With only four games into the season, the Arozarena catch is already the catch of the year.

Renfroe’s sure two-run double or even triple would end up being a sacrifice fly giving Boston the 2-0 lead at the time.

Arozarena, who mashed all through the postseason, is one of the most important bats in the Rays lineup and equally as important in the field as well.  He might have a new look, sporting the Sisqo like hair, but the same spectacular Arozarena was on display at Fenway on Monday night.
