Boston Bruins: Taylor Hall Looks to Make Some Noise in the Stanley Cup Playoffs

The Bruins will face off against the Capitals for Game 1 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs matchup tonight in Washington.  Heading into tonight’s matchup, the Bruins are 15-6-2 over their last 23 games.

A major portion of that winning record stemmed from the trade deadline deals that sent Taylor Hall, Curtis Lazar and Mike Reilly to Boston.  Since the trades, the Bruins have been an impressive 12-4-1.

The Bruins are playing their best hockey of the season just in time to face the Capitals.

In what is expected to be a physical series, the Bruins will need the 29-year-old Hall to be as impressive during the postseason.

Since joining the Black and Gold, Hall has been the perfect compliment to center David Krejci.  The veteran center looks rejuvenated with Hall on his line.

Hall had eight goals with six assists in 16 games with the Bruins.  “It’s been 16 games [and] it’s probably been some of the most enjoyable hockey I’ve ever played in my career,” said Hall.

They’ll be some focus on whether or not this will be the final games Hall will be playing in a Bruins sweater.  However, he is focused on the task at hand - winning a Stanley Cup.

“I think every team in the playoffs has a chance, and we’re no different, obviously,” Hall told reporters Friday during a video conference.  “I feel like it’s a pretty legitimate shot and you don’t have these opportunities every year.”

Fans and media will speculate on his future, but the veteran forward is focused on the task at hand.

“So I think we’re all here to win a Stanley Cup, and I think if we made that happen or we have a great run and some good things happen, I think everyone will be taken care of, and we’ll figure that out later.”

The Bruins will need their top two lines to produce during the playoffs.  Adding a legitimate scoring threat in Hall to partner with Krejci will be something Bruins fans will be excited to see.

This will be a physical series for the Bruins, but they match up well with the Capitals.  The Bruins and Capitals will face off against each other for the first time in the playoffs since 2012.
